...if front engine mounts for Saab 99's can still be got anywhere? I know Sonett did a run of aircraft-grade competition-spec all singing all dancing ones a while ago, but is there anything available "peasant spec" that will just return it to it to its pre "26-years-of-weathering-and-abuse" state without brankrupting me?

right on! what sort of state is it in? Mine isn't broken, its just badly worn - allowing the engine to slop back and forth more than it should, so the gear changes are a bit on the inprecise side.
What sort of money you want for it?

I'm pretty sure it's in good nick - got it for a spare for my old 99 and never used it. I'll check later and come back to you. Don't think I paid more than a fiver for it, albeit about 20 years ago...
