Are there any mint 9000 flat front Carlssons left? I've developed a new found appreciation for these - particularly the hatch one -they're dated and kinda gumby looking but I like their absolute 80s-ness.

Anyone got a mint one? Would love to see some photos...

Rich, (McVities) owns 3 of them but none of them can be described as 'mint' at the moment. Quite a few have appeared out of the woodwork recently but again, most of them are in poor condition.

There are a couple of decent quality Slope Nose ones about, saabcarlsson (Mark) and Augustus (name is forgotten ) have a Black and White one respectively.

IIRC Steve Lewis had a nice one, I think it's now in Rob Gray's collection??

Can you get replacement panels for these still? Wings and such?

The Sultan has one for sale just outside Edinburgh that needs some things done to it.

That's what got me started on this particular thought process

And still looking good if i may so! In the bodyshop at present having the bonnet resprayed and the arches looked at.

Had the the alloys refurbished with darker spokes and the windows de-chromed

21yr old 5dr barge still keeps pace with Type-R's

I do indeed own 3 flat fronts.....although one of them is beyond saving, so the fleet size will e being reduced soon. The black one is a wirk in progress, but will be very good once completed.

There has been a few for sale in the last year which lookid very good, but most seem manky........and have been to the moon and back......

Mine cannot be described as mint, although many of the initial troubles it had are now sorted, there is still a bit of TLC required to the front door bottoms and n/s front wheelarch.

On the plus side had my headlining card repaired and retrimmed. Put it back in last weekend, along with all the associated trim pieces that had been in the boot and now it's a much better place to be sat when driving.

Sorry for the tardiness in the reply.

I visited Richard at SaabTech in Glossop to see if he'd got any headlining cards as mine was damaged after removal. He didn't have any for a CC Carlsson with sunroof, but recommended a trimmers (Auto Trim in Denton) which just happened to be 100yd from where I work.

Dropped in the 3 bits of headlining card and they managed to repair the card, both get it back into one piece and repair the huge chunk that was missing from the front 'grab handle' area.

Picked it up and managed to refit it myself and put all the trim back.

Next job it to work out how to remove the sunroof card so that they can trim that bit up aswell....any ideas?

It looks much better in the flesh than the photos as the flash picks out any small blemishs, all in all impressed with the results. It's a very close match to the original roof, which itself was a different colour to i. the dark suede-ish a-pillar covers and ii. the c-pillar covers. The newness does no favours for the rest of the 20 year old trim.

Here's the outside for those that are interested.

When I took it to Richard, I found out that the car was well known to him as one of the first owners was a regular customer of his who lived locally. He seem pleased that it was back on the road, I hope he doesn't have to see it to frequently! A regular service once a year (after the other niggles are sorted) and that'd make me happy!

I did put the Aero interior (seats and cards) in myself after purchase. I still have the original Carlsson seats and cards, just a personal preference for my old Aeros. It's nice to know that I could get it back to 'standard' trim if I wanted too.

I have a red one, nearly mint. A few scuffs to the bodykit and two small areas of rust to the rear offside wheelarch. Interior is very nice, although the headlining on the sunroof could do with tidying. 104k on the clock with full history and a recon short engine at 40k so barely broken in.
