The owner of the 9000 anni, has become a friend since Prescott earlier in the year, and we had one of the many long chats I had with friends, yesterday. The anni has only covered 30k! Alex's early flat front 900 turbo 5 door was equally as stunning, another worthy winner, very well restored, and as he said, a nice birthday present.

Keep 'em coming Johnno. I didn't see you up there, btw!

This is a car which was for sale from a deceased estate. It had been re-built by Two-stroke to turbo to the tune of £7000. Was for sale at £3000, but I undrestand it went for a figure closer to £2000

£2500 so I was told by Alex, £8,000 of bills from, restoration, and full history, IIRC.
Boy if I only were in the right place, at the right time, for once! :D

Very nice, and it brings back memories for me, as it was a 900T8 identical in looks to this that was the first ever Saab I drove, back in about 1984/5 ish.

I'd sell my soul to own that, it's simply wonderful (except the roof mount light which would have to be removed). What an absolute gem. :envy:

I love this pair, from early to late, 14 year apart.

Just wish you'd got a early 99 Combi Coupe picture to go with it.

Hiya Robin.
A massive thankyou & well done to Alex, your good self & the other SOC bods, what a great day. 8)
I had a blast, it was great chatting with you & I was glad I got to have a chinwag with Paul (9000 Parts) before he departs for Turkey, was great meeting you matey & I hope all goes well for you & yours in the future.
Had a couple of good chats with Mike Philpott, Al & Elli, what a star that man is.
The paddy he threw when his vert didnt win a prize was classic, oh, & on that note many many thanks to all who voted for my old shed, respect to you all & I hope I answered all your questions.
I couldnt get over just how many people were intrested in it, made me feel very good indeed so thank you all very much. 8)
& just how much of an idiot am I?
A guy named Steve came over & was chatting with me for ages about the club, my car & past National events, I had no idea I was talking with Swade, a very intresting man who did so much work towards the SOS convoys & I didnt know who he was till the end of the day!
What a plank I am.
I also spent much of the day with Les (Inspector Gadget), hope you got home ok matey.
I did lose him for a while, he said something about going to look at the new 9-5 & off he went.

Image

True to his word there he was, but I didnt think the new 9-5 was his cup of tea.
So I moved in closer to make sure he was ok sitting in one of these new cars.

Image

Aha, he isnt intrested in the heads up display or the sat nav at all, just look at him!

Image

Hes in there letting some nice lady twiddle his knob the dirty little devil!
Fair doos, hes a cracking fella & great company too, cheers Les.

Also talked for ages with Chris (Transit80), good to catch up with you again mate.
I also met David (-=FUBES=-) & had a long chat with him & Demos (also from Neo Bros) who was very intrested in my old bus & is a lovely lad too & full of passion for Saabs, also Sharon, Si, & many many more.
Isnt it great catching up with old & meting new Saab dudes.
But I cant forget Nev, what an absolute star he is & once again hes done me another massive favour (which I will talk about & post pics very soon).
Cheers Nev, I did look for you later on as I didnt get to say a proper thankyou, but I couldnt find you.
I was so busy yacking on at everyone & I totally missed you.
So sorry matey & thankyou very very much.
Ive bought some new gaskets for a fantastic price on the day so that little project will be all systems go very soon.

So from me a massive thumbs up to all involved.

Sorry Ian, I havent got anymore of that one, its a real corker too so if anyone else has pics please whack em up here.
I think thats why Admin asked me to start a new thread in the coffee bar to keep all the pics of the weekend in one place
so get posting lads, I know I wasnt the only one pointing my camera at anything that was made of Swedish metal & moved!
