got home to find the loons off to hospital with a head wound - nothing nasty
there is a 15ft bank up from the house - he likes to take at a bit of speed on his mountain bike
gets the latest monthly bike wrag, read,s up on the latest
goes out builds a ramp - plan being he,ll get a bit more airborn as he goes over the bank
He flew! - missed the bank completly and landed with a thump at the bottom, got bounced off the bike ( ok it has suspension but come on!) - and head butted a tree

ain,t it great to have the daft ball,s of a teenager

When ours tried those tricks he ended up in A&E with a broken collar bone. Hasn't really been so keen on the bike since  doesn't stop him doing the daft things on his skateboard though.

Last escapade was slipping down some steps and landing hand first on a broken bottle, severed tendon on 2nd finger of right hand (luckily he's left handed), que operation to pin tendon to bone and had a metal insert for 6 weeks. This happened in September and was finally discharged from hospital ortho & physio last week.

Don't you just love teenagers :park: :argh:

Was always up A&E with my lad - he usually found thorn bushes to ride/fly through.
Watching You've Been Framed every week nothing ceases to amaze me how people try to severly injure themselves. He didn't film himself did he otherwise the £250 might make up for the pain.

They will recover  - same lad who hit the thorn bushes - and we now have a lovely two year old grandaughter who has suggested I move all my R/c aircraft out of the spare room  as it will be her room when she comes to stay :)

My eldest son (now 27) was very 'accident prone' as a young teenager if it wasn't football injuries it was coming to grief on his bike, got so bad that the school began to suspect I was knocking him about

it's all part of growing up  I used to find new and interesting ways to injure myself all the time, as did my two brothers......to the point where my folks were on first name terms with the nurses in the casualty department  :bag:
It's all good character building and actually helps develop some common sense I reckon 8)

Wonder where he gets the daft bike gene from, Loise?

By him a set of protective body armour, saved the life of the son of a close friend, he's going to try the stupid stuff anyway so you might as well prepare for it. I'm training William on a classic tricycle w/o helmet in a so far vain attempt to teach him to learn about risks, he's real fast on the thing and has cut back for the moment on big offs.
