If Saab are going to survive without GM backing, they are going to have to sell more new cars.

There are some huge gaps in the dealer network with some large cities having no dealer nearby.

So, if you were buying a new car, is your nearest Saab dealer too far away to bother with buying a Saab?

Most local to me is Williams.... I'm actually not too sure if they still sell Saabs there or not :? . They still service them and offer aftersales.

My nearest 'pure' Saab showroom is Causeway Saab, 27 miles away in Chippenham

The one in Swindon (Skurry's) is part of a car-share-showroom with Vauxhall and Chevrolet

I guess that I'm "lucky" to live so close to Skurray's.

I don't use them for my 9-5 or even for my vauxhall van.I tried them once a couple of years ago to service the van.

Never again! They might have improved since...I will never know!!

Causeway are about 20 miles away. If I was buying a new Saab (fat chance)...I would visit them!!

Technically, the nearest one to me is West End Saab at Staples Corner.....however, I'd never take a car there or buy one from them.

Viking are only a few miles further away and I will continue to use them as long as I keep the car.

My next car won't be a Saab, as most certainley I'll need to replace the 9-5 Aero long before Saab are likely to again make anything I would want to buy....

8.3 miles for me to the same dealer, wondering how long in the current economy it's going to be there though, it's not exactly 'modern'. :(

I've got choice of 3, closest is Pentagon Oldham
then there's Stockport and Manchester also
within 10 miles. Don't use 'em much though.

Humberside Saab, 7 miles in Hessle. I pop in from time to time for minor parts and advice.

Viking and the former Haymill are about equidistant from me. As my car is only 12 months old I won't be buying another for a while yet, I hope.

In Wigan, Wilson & Co. are the closest. But, if I had to go to a dealer I'd rather go to Bay Horse Saab which is in Blackburn, I've never taken my car to them but have to spoke to their parts dept and they were very helpfull.

If I'm in Stroud then my nearest dealer is Gloucester Saab.

About 12 miles to Thurlow Nunn, but I don't know how much longer they'll be a Saab dealer. I'd rather buy from a smaller concern though, so would probably travel if I were ever to buy new. I was quite impressed by Turners Hill down by Gatwick.

6 miles to Western SAAB, don't know where the next nearest dealer (Possibly Alexander's in Stockton but I wouldn't go there ) After that one of the dealer's in Edinburgh or Glasgow -- Hmm Eastern Western group again!

Having said that the service I have had recently and their upbeat attitude to the dumping of GM (haven't been there since the Koenigseggeggegg anouncement) makes me think that I would happily go there for a new one, but short of a lottery win, that isn't gong to happen any ime soon.

Manchester Saab has closed, yes. and that place at Hazel Grove was demolished a couple of years ago. So maybe Bay Horse saab is closest to some of us, (on one of my services there, they left off all the engine covers over & under and I drove 88 miles round trip to get them back on), Left in a corner of the workshop.
I don't go there anymore more.
